Sabine Creek Wastewater Treatment Expansion

Sabine Creek Tour

Due to growth, Fate, Royse City, and the North Texas Municipal Water District are doing an expansion to the Sabine Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant. This expansion will take the city from a flow of 3 million gallons per day to 7 million gallons per day in 2024.

Although we will all experience an increase of $4/month to our sewer bills, as was discussed in our budget process this summer, much of the cost is being paid for with wastewater impact fees on new development. This expansion will also keep the city in compliance with Texas Commission on Environmental Quality and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency requirements.

Our city leadership toured the facility on September 23 and received important updates regarding this expansion. For information about the need for this plant, how it works, and the details of the expansion, click the links below to learn more.
