May 7, 2022 - General Election Cancelled Due To No Opposed Candidates

The City of Fate recently ordered an election to be held on May 7, 2022 for the purpose of electing a Mayor and two City Council Members, Places 4 and 6. Two incumbents, David Billings (Mayor), and Allen Robbins (Place 4), filed to appear on the ballot in hopes of serving an additional three-year term in office, and are uncontested in their races. Additionally, Lance Megyesi has filed for Place 6 and is uncontested for the seat.

The filing deadline to submit an application to run for City Council in the General Election was Friday, February 18, and the last day to declare write-in candidacy on the ballot was February 22. The City Secretary did not receive valid candidate filings from anyone other than those listed above. Therefore, the Fate City Council cancelled the election due to no opposed candidates.  All three candidates will take the Oath of Office at the City Council meeting on Monday, May 16, to begin serving their terms.
