The National Community Survey™ (NCS) is a report about the “livability” of Fate. The survey and its administration are standardized to assure high-quality research methods and directly comparable results across hundreds of other NCS surveyed communities. This benchmarking survey provides a comprehensive and accurate picture of residents' perspectives about local government services, policies, and management.

The NCS captures residents’ opinions within the three pillars of a community (Community Characteristics, Governance, and Participation) across eight central facets of the community (Safety, Mobility, Natural Environment, Built Environment, Economy, Recreation, and Community Engagement).

The 2022 NCS scientific survey involved 2,700 randomly chosen households that received mailers inviting them to participate, 379 responded (a 14% response rate). A community-wide survey was also conducted, 41 households participated. The results were presented at the May 16, 2022, City Council Meeting.
